I haven't been around much lately. Life has a way of keeping one spinning in circles. Had a little time off this weekend finally and just went for a drive. Ran across this interesting sight in the far northeast corner of the state.
Umm, no, not that old. Still in service. Paint job is for temperate climate as opposed to desert. The trucks (looking to be M1083s) were first fielded in 1996 and continue today. The tracks in the first picture are MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System), those in the 2nd and 3rd are M1068 Command Posts, all still in active service.
Hopefully no stop at your place
ReplyDeleteNope. Not far from home, but close enough I was paying attention.
DeleteThat stuff is OLD. Like gulf war I, Reagan army 1983 REFORGER old. Most of that gear was put in depot storage or sent to the DRMO before '07---Ray
ReplyDeleteYou can still use that stuff, it still does what it was built for.
